Security Training & Career Support

Build the knowledge, professional behaviours and career readiness needed to progress towards an SIA-licensed security role in the UK.

Service overview

Prepare for a responsible career protecting people, property and information.

Prude Consulting supports people exploring security guarding, door supervision and public space surveillance (CCTV). Preparation can include industry awareness, communication, conflict management, incident reporting, employability support and guidance towards the correct SIA licence-linked qualification and recognised certification route.

The service begins with a readiness discussion so that the learning plan reflects the role you want, your existing qualifications and any first-aid or licensing steps still required.

Who this may suit

  • Adults preparing for their first private-security role
  • Learners planning an approved security guard, door supervisor or CCTV course
  • Applicants who want CV, interview and job-search support
  • Existing operatives who need help understanding refresher or renewal routes

Security Guard qualification content

The current Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer in the Private Security Industry combines common security-industry knowledge, security-guarding duties and conflict management. SIA specifications cover the private security industry, relevant law, health and safety, fire and emergency procedures, communication, record keeping, terror-threat awareness, access control, protection systems, personal safety, drugs awareness, searching, patrolling and incident response.

Door Supervisor pathway

The current Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry includes the common industry unit, working as a door supervisor, conflict management and practical physical-intervention skills. Learners must be fit to take part in practical training and complete the awarding organisation's required knowledge and practical assessments.

CCTV pathway

The Level 2 Award for CCTV Operators (Public Space Surveillance) in the Private Security Industry covers the CCTV operator's responsibilities, legislation and data protection, equipment, surveillance techniques, communication, incident handling, evidence and practical control-room operation.

Assessment and certification happens externally

Prude Consulting helps learners understand the route and prepare with confidence, but the formal assessment and certificate must come from a recognised awarding organisation through an approved centre. After the required qualification is awarded, the learner then applies separately to the SIA for the relevant licence.

Training only

Prude Consulting prepares you; recognised bodies certify you.

The service is designed as guidance, preparation and career support. Where a certificate, official assessment or licence is required, Prude Consulting will signpost the client to the current recognised route rather than issuing the certificate itself.

01

Security Industry Authority

The SIA is the UK regulator for private-security licensing. After a learner has the required recognised qualification, the licence application is made to the SIA.

02

SIA-approved awarding organisations

Formal certificates are issued by awarding organisations accepted for the relevant route, such as BIIAB, Highfield Qualifications, Laser Learning Awards, NOCN, Pearson, QNUK and SFJ Awards where currently listed by GOV.UK.

03

Approved centres and exams

Official knowledge and practical assessments must be completed through an approved centre or training provider connected to the relevant awarding organisation. Prude Consulting will guide clients towards checking those providers before booking.

04

Qualification regulators

Clients can use Ofqual's regulated awarding-organisation service for England and Northern Ireland. GOV.UK also points learners to Qualifications Wales and SQA Accreditation for the relevant national registers.

Clear boundary: Prude Consulting does not award the official certificate, does not administer the official examination and does not issue the SIA licence. The consultancy helps clients prepare and then directs them to recognised bodies and approved centres for the formal assessment and certification stage.
